WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - The Purdue women's tennis team returned to the Schwartz Tennis Center this weekend for matches with Nebraska and Iowa.
NEBRASKA NOTES
Purdue put up a tough fight for the doubles matches but was unable to overtake the Huskers.
In singles, Csilla Fodor was bested by her opponent Kristina Novak, 6-1, 6-3 to raise the Huskers score to 2-0.
Juanna Larranaga forced her second match to a tie of 6-6, but was overtaken by Chloe Kuckelman, 7-6.
The lone point for singles and the team was scored by Carmen Gallardo Guevara as she edged out her match at No. 2, 6-3, 6-3.
Nebraska overtook Purdue, 4-1.
IOWA NOTES
The doubles point came down to the final match for the Boilermakers. Nathalia Wolf Gasparin and Csilla Fodor overtook Marisa Schmidt and Samantha Gillas, 6-3 to raise the Boiler's score to 1-0.
Carmen Gallardo Guevara swept her first match of singles to give the Boilermakers a strong start.
Csilla Fodor edged out a singles win at No.1 followed by Seira Shimizu securing another point for the Boilermakers at No. 5.
Clinching the match for the Boilermakers at No. 4, Juana Larranaga bested Michelle Bacalla, 6-1, 7-5.
Purdue has improved to 10-6 overall on the season and 2-2 in conference play.

The Boilermakers will travel down the road to Bloomington to face the Indiana Hoosiers on Sat. April 2nd for their B1G rivalry match.
