WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – After learning its NCAA destination on Sunday, the East Region's No. 3-seed Purdue men's basketball team has started preparations for Friday's first-round contest against Yale in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – After learning its NCAA destination on Sunday, the East Region's No. 3-seed Purdue men's basketball team has started preparations for Friday's first-round contest against Yale in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

The Boilermakers and 14th-seeded Bulldogs will battle at 2 p.m. ET / 1 p.m. CT, at the home of the Milwaukee Bucks – Fiserv Forum. It will be the first game of the first session, as Texas and Virginia Tech will square off a half-hour after the conclusion of game one with the two winners advancing to Sunday's Round of 32 contest.
 
The Boilermakers took the day off from practice on Monday after playing in Sunday's Big Ten Championship game against Iowa. The Boilermakers watched the Selection Show as a team at Gainbridge Fieldhouse, participated in their media obligations and returned home last night to West Lafayette.

Purdue will depart for Milwaukee on Wednesday afternoon.

  1. Purdue is making its seventh straight NCAA Tournament appearance, the sixth-longest streak in the country (Kansas – 32; Michigan State – 24; Gonzaga – 23; North Carolina – 11; Villanova -9; Purdue – 7).
  2. Jaden Ivey needs 25 points and one block to become the fourth Big Ten player since the 1992-93 season with 600 points, 150 rebounds, 100 assists, 30 steals and 20 blocked shots (Frank Kaminsky, Draymond Green, Evan Turner).
  3. Matt Painter's 14 NCAA Tournament appearances (13 at Purdue; 1 at Southern Illinois) are the most for an active coach under the age of 55. Painter is just 51 years old.
