WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – The 2022 Big Ten Media Day heads to Minneapolis for the first time as the Purdue men's basketball team will take part in the annual festivities on Tuesday, Oct. 11, at the Target Center.
Head coach Matt Painter and junior Zach Edey will represent Purdue at the event, beginning at 9 a.m. ET. Media from FOX, CBS, ESPN, BTN and SiriusXM Radio, as well as local and national print media, will descend on the event to talk to some of the nation's top players and coaches.
The Big Ten Network and Fox Sports App will air Coach Painter's press conference at 10:40 a.m. ET, and Painter and Edey will be guests on the BTN studio set at 2:40 p.m. ET. The network will produce over five hours of live programming during Thursday's festivities. The pair will also be on SIRIUS / XM at 9 AM ET (Painter) and 9:10 AM ET (Edey).
Fans can join the conversation using the hashtag #B1GMediaDay and Boilermaker fans are encouraged to follow the official Purdue accounts on Twitter and Instagram (@BoilerBall).
The first chance to see the new-look Boilermakers in action is at Purdue's annual fan day Saturday, Oct. 22, in Mackey Arena. Fans can receive autographs and get pictures with their favorite Boilermakers beginning at 10:45 a.m. ET, and then are invited to stay and watch Purdue's first intrasquad scrimmage of the season, following the autograph session.
This will be the lone opportunity to see the men's team before its exhibition game Nov. 2, against Truman State beginning at 7 p.m. ET at Mackey Arena.
The Boilermakers went 29-8 a year ago and reached the Sweet 16 for the fourth time in the last five tournaments. Purdue is expected once again to contend for the Big Ten title during the 2022-23 season.
Single-game tickets will go on sale to John Purdue Club members on Oct. 18, and to the general public Oct. 21.
