LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Daniel Labrador advanced to the quarterfinals of the ITA Ohio Valley Regional on Saturday afternoon with a straight sets win in the Round of 16.
The redshirt sophomore dropped Pavel Motl from Middle Tennessee in two sets, winning 12 of 15 games played, for a 6-3, 6-0 victory.
Labrador will play Fabien Salle from Louisville with a spot to the semifinals on the line on Sunday morning.
Freshman Mujtaba Ali-Khan picked up the first win of his collegiate career Saturday in the consolation bracket with a 6-4, 6-4 victory over MTSU's Shu Matsuoka. The rookie is slated to face Pierre Copin from Tennessee State on Sunday.
