HOLLY SPRINGS, N.C. – Purdue baseball closes out its 10-day road trip in North Carolina with its final neutral-site series, taking on Longwood as the third first-time foe of the young season.

The Boilermakers return to Ting Stadium in the Raleigh area for the three-game series, the same ballpark where they capped a four-game sweep of Princeton with a pair of walk-off wins Saturday. First pitch vs. Longwood is set for 3 p.m. Friday and 1 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Admission is free again all weekend.

Longwood University is based in Farmville, Virginia, and joined the Big South Conference in July 2012. The Lancers were an NCAA Division I independent from the fall of 2007 through the spring of 2012.

The Boilermakers enter the weekend as one of 15 remaining unbeaten teams nationally. They've won 10 consecutive games dating back to their 2021 season finale, a comeback victory vs. Minnesota at Alexander Field. The current win streak is the 11th of 10 games and longer in program history. It's the third of that length to span two different seasons.

STREAKING BOILERMAKERS
Curtis Washington Jr. has scored a run in each of the first nine games of the season. Mike Bolton Jr., Cam Thompson and Washington have all reached base safely in each of the first nine games.
Troy Viola and Washington are both riding seven-game hit streaks. Meanwhile, CJ Valdez has hit safely in his first six games as a Boilermaker.

ALBRECHT ON FIRE IN THE EVEN YEARS
Evan Albrecht has four three-hit games on the current road trip in North Carolina, connecting for a double as part of each win. He's batting a team-best .632 (12-for-19) on the trip and is hitting a Big Ten best .517 (15-for-29) for the season. As the primary 9-hole hitter, he has reached base safely in six of his nine opportunities to lead off an inning and has racked up six stolen bases to help the Boilermakers lead the Big Ten.
The senior's fast start continues a trend in which Albrecht has been Purdue's hottest hitter during the even-numbered years of his career. He was leading the team in batting average and RBI when the season was shut down on March 12 of the 2020 season. The infielder had posted a five-hit game in Purdue's final game of the abbreviated 14-game campaign.

DID YOU KNOW
Entering the weekend, Purdue is one of three teams nationally – along with Wake Forest (12) and Tennessee Tech (10) – currently riding a double-figure win streak dating back to last season. Since May 20, the Boilermakers have won 14 of their last 16 games. That's their best stretch since going 21-2 to from April 20 to May 26 in 2018 when the team caught fire and earned an at-large bid to an NCAA Regional.
Purdue has registered 10-plus strikeouts on the mound in six of its first nine games. In 2019, the Boilermakers set a team record with 24 double-figure strikeout games. They had three 10-plus strikeout days over their first nine games that season and went on to post team records for strikeouts (477) and strikeouts per nine innings (9.10).
While ranking second nationally with 37 stolen bases through Wednesday, the Boilermakers have registered multiple stolen bases in eight of their first nine games. They were particularly active on the base paths in the series finale vs. South Dakota State (9 steals) and game 2 vs. Princeton (8). Those totals rank only behind the program-record 10 steals Purdue had in an April 2019 home win vs. Chicago State.
Team RBI leader (15) Cam Thompson has multiple RBI in five of Purdue's first nine games and has already surpassed his season total (14) from 2021. Twenty-seven of his 29 career RBI have come as part of multi-RBI games. Thompson is a team-best 7-for-14 with runners in scoring position this season.
