The Boilermakers are 2-0-2 and coming off a 1-0 win over Gonzaga on August 26 and a 5-1 victory against Ball State on August 29. The pair of victories helped redshirt senior forward Sarah Griffith and sophomore defender Nicole Kevdzija collect Big Ten Offensive and Defensive Player of the Week accolades on Tuesday.

The Fighting Irish (3-0-1) also are undefeated and on a two-game win streak. Notre Dame opened last weekend with a 2-1, overtime win at Wisconsin on Thursday and added a 1-0 win at Marquette on Sunday. Notre Dame is receiving votes in the latest United Soccer Coaches rankings.

GRIFFITH AND KEVDZIJA NAMED BIG TEN ATHLETES OF THE WEEK
Griffith earned Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week accolades after she scored a hat trick in Sunday's win over Ball State. Kevdzija was named the Defensive Player of the Week after she netted the game-winning goal while helping Purdue shut out Gonzaga on Thursday, and she added an assist on Sunday. The honors are the first of the season for the Boilermakers.

The Big Ten Player of the Week distinction is the fourth of Kevdzija's career. Last season, she was recognized with Freshman of the Week honors twice and Offensive Player of the Week accolades once. Griffith is named the league's Player of the Week for the first time in her career.

Griffith has four goals in four matches this season and 13 in her career. Sunday's hat trick performance came 10 days after her goal on August 19 to open the season was featured as the No. 5 play on Sports Center's Top-10 Plays on ESPN.

In her 16-match career, Kevdzija has four career goals, three of them game-winners. She now has two career assists.

LAST TIME OUT: HAT TRICK-FUELED WIN
Purdue remained undefeated with a 5-1 victory against Ball State on Sunday thanks to Griffith's hat trick, the sixth in program history. The five goals are the most by a Boilermaker team since 2017 and tied for ninth-most in team history, while Griffith's three-goal game is tied for the program record and the first hat trick since 2017.

Griffith's first goal came in the seventh minute, followed by scores in the 51st and 59th minutes. Senior midfielder Sydney Duarte and freshman midfielder Abigail Roy also scored for Purdue. Duarte's goal, in the 69th minute, was the third of her career and first since her freshman campaign in 2018. Roy's was the first in her four-match Boilermaker career. It came in the 35th minute to break a 1-1 tie and was the game-winner. Ten players had at least a point in the victory, including sophomore midfielder Victoria Kevdzija, who recorded the game-winning assist on her first career point.

Purdue had a 19-11 advantage in shots and a 9-6 edge in shots on goal. Griffith had a match-high six shots and five shots on goal and Roy added three shots, two on goal. Senior goalkeeper Marisa Bova made five saves and BSU's keeper had four.
