JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Purdue track & field team begins NCAA competition at the NCAA East Preliminary Round from May 26-29 in Jacksonville, Florida.
Twenty Boilermakers qualified in a total of 25 events, and they will compete for a berth in the NCAA Championships. The four-day event is hosted by North Florida at Hodges Stadium.
The men compete on Wednesday, May 26, and Friday, May 28, while the women compete on Thursday, May 27, and Saturday, May 29. On Wednesday and Thursday, field events begin at 1:30 p.m. ET, and running events commence at 6 p.m. On Friday and Saturday, field events start at 1 p.m. and running events get underway at 5:30 p.m. A complete schedule is available here, and specific times when each Boilermaker competes can be found below.

Purdue's nine men's qualifiers, who will compete in 13 events, are seniors Samson Colebrooke (100m, 200m, 4x100), Malcolm Dotson (200m, 400m, 4x100) and Brody Smith (3,000m steeplechase), juniors Jalil Brewer (discus, shot put), Curt Eckstein (10,000m) and Tamar Greene (triple jump), sophomore Justin Becker (4x100) and Isaiah Martin (long jump) and freshman Marcellus Moore (100m, 200m, 4x100)
Eleven women qualified in 12 events, as senior Samara Miller (400m, 4x400), junior Tessa Sheets (pole vault), sophomores Jessica Bray (pole vault), Camille Christopher (100m, 200m, 4x100) and Alexis Zatta (high jump) and freshmen Naomi Campbell (4x100), Kaia Harris (discus), Saran Kouyeth (4x100, 4x400), Annamaria Leszczynska (400m hurdles), K'Ja Talley (400m hurdles, 4x100, 4x400) and Cierra Williams (400m, 4x400) will represent the Boilermakers.
The NCAA East Prelims, along with the West Prelims, feature 48 qualifiers in each individual event and 24 teams in each relay. The top 12 finishers in each event advance to the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships in Eugene, Oregon, from June 9-12.
JESSICA BRAY: POLE VAULT
Making her NCAA debut, Bray will compete in the pole vault, with competition set for Thursday at 3 p.m. She qualified with a mark of 4.00 meters, which is tied for No. 8 in school history. A Fishers, Indiana, native, Bray is seeded No. 47.
JALIL BREWER: DISCUS, SHOT PUT
Brewer competes in the shot put on Wednesday at 6 p.m., and the discus on Friday at 1:30 p.m. He is seeded No. 11 in the shot put with a mark of 19.70m, which would rank No. 4 in Purdue history if he wasn't already third. Brewer placed fourth in the event at last week's Big Ten Championships.
From Indianapolis, Brewer is seeded No. 32 in the discus and qualified with a personal-best throw of 54.07m to finish sixth at Big Tens. He is competing at his third NCAA Prelims and fourth NCAA meet overall.
CAMILLE CHRISTOPHER: 100m, 200m, 4x100
Christopher's first race is the 100m, with the first round on Thursday at 7 p.m. and the quarterfinals on Saturday at 7:05 p.m. She is seeded 39th with a time of 11.56w. From Noblesville, Indiana, Christopher is tied for No. 6 in the Purdue record books in the event with a time of 11.59. She was sixth at the Big Ten Championships and is racing at her second NCAA regionals.
In the 200m, Christopher runs on Thursday at 8:45 p.m., with the quarterfinals slated for Saturday at 8:10 p.m. She is seeded No. 34 with a time of 23.61, which is tied for No. 5 in program history and earned her a sixth-place finish at Big Tens.
SAMSON COLEBROOKE: 100m, 200m, 4x100
Racing at his fourth NCAA meet as a Boilermaker and second prelims, Colebrooke runs in the 100m first round on Wednesday at 7 p.m., and the quarterfinals are Friday at 7:05 p.m. The Big Ten runner-up in the event, he is seeded No. 28 with a time of 10.27w. Colebrooke is third in school history with a mark of 10.19.
Wednesday's action for Colebrooke continues in the 200m, at 8:45 p.m., while Friday's quarterfinals are at 8:10 p.m. The Exuma, Bahamas, native earned the No. 23 seed, in 20.69w, and he also finished fifth at Big Tens. Colebrooke owns the second-fastest time in school history, in 20.46.
MALCOLM DOTSON: 200M, 400M, 4x100
Dotson is competing at his sixth NCAA meet and third prelims. His week begins on Wednesday with the 400m first round at 7:25 p.m., and the quarterfinals are on Friday at 7:20 p.m. Dotson is seeded No. 45 with a time of 47.07.
Later on Wednesday, Dotson races in the 200m, at 8:45 p.m., and the quarterfinals are on Friday at 8:10 p.m. From Indianapolis, he earned the No. 26 seed, in 20.74w, and also posted a sixth-place finish at the Big Ten Championships.
CURT ECKSTEIN: 10,000m
Eckstein runs in the 10,000m, set for Wednesday at 9:10 p.m. He is racing at his ninth NCAA competition and third east prelims. The Oldenburg, Indiana, native is seeded No. 25 with a time of 29:11.52. That's the third-fastest mark in program history and earned Eckstein a fifth-place Big Ten finish.
TAMAR GREENE: TRIPLE JUMP
Less than two weeks after winning a Big Ten title in the triple jump, Greene competes in the event on Friday at 3:15 p.m. He placed seventh indoors to earn first team All-America accolades and is seeded ninth overall this week with a jump of 16.11 meters. That would be No. 6 in school history, but Greene already is No. 5, with a mark of 16.17m. From Nassau, The Bahamas, he is competing at his fourth NCAA meet and second prelims.
KAIA HARRIS: DISCUS
Harris qualified for her first NCAA prelims in the discus, where she will compete on Saturday at 1:30 p.m. From West Lafayette, she is seeded No. 19 with a throw of 54.11m, which ranks second in program history. It's the best throw by a Boilermaker, and also the first to go further than 50.00m, since 2018.
ANNAMARIA LESZCZYNSKA: 400m HURDLES
Leszczynska runs in the 400m hurdles on Thursday at 7:25 p.m. Quarterfinals in the event are scheduled for 7:55 p.m. on Saturday. In her first NCAA competition, the Nicholls, Australia, native is seeded No. 27 with a time of 58.94, which earned her a fifth-place finish at the Big Ten Championships.
ISAIAH MARTIN: LONG JUMP
Martin, who already has qualified for the NCAA Championships in the decathlon and competed indoors in the heptathlon, qualified for the east prelims in the long jump. The event is set for Wednesday at 3 p.m. From Hillsboro, Missouri, Martin qualified for his fourth NCAA event and first regionals, and is seeded 40th with a jump of 7.43m.
SAMARA MILLER: 400m, 4x400
In her fourth NCAA East Prelims, Miller races in the 400m on Thursday at 7:25 p.m. The quarterfinals are on Saturday at 7:20 p.m. With a time of 53.67 that earned her a sixth-place Big Ten finish, Miller is seeded No. 33. That mark would be No. 10 in Purdue history, but the Naperville, Illinois, native already holds the No. 5 spot, in 53.38.
MARCELLUS MOORE: 100m, 200m, 4x100
A first team All-American in the indoor 60m earlier this year while making his NCAA debut, Moore races in the 100m first round on Wednesday at 7 p.m., with the quarterfinals slated for Friday at 7:05 p.m. With a time of 10.25w, he is seeded No. 23. Moore placed fifth at Big Tens in 10.35, which is tied for No. 8 in the Purdue record books.
Moore also runs in the 200m on Wednesday at 8:45 p.m., while Friday's quarterfinals are at 8:10 p.m. Seeded 16th overall, the Plainfield, Illinois, native qualified with a time of 20.55, which is fourth-fastest in program history. Moore was fourth at Big Tens in the event in 20.68w.
TESSA SHEETS: POLE VAULT
Sheets qualified for her first NCAA prelims and will compete in the pole vault on Thursday at 3 p.m. She earned a mark of 4.00m and is seeded No. 46. That would be tied for eighth in team history, but she already is tied for No. 6 with a clearance of 4.02m.
BRODY SMITH: 3,000m STEEPLECHASE
The Purdue record-holder in the event, Smith races in the 3,000m steeplechase on Friday at 6:10 p.m. His time of 8:43.77 is the fastest in school history and bested a seven-year Purdue record. The Cody, Wyoming, native is seeded 15th and is racing at his ninth NCAA meet and second east prelims.
K'JA TALLEY: 400m HURDLES, 4x100, 4x400
Talley qualified in the 400m hurdles, where she runs on Thursday at 8:20 p.m. The quarterfinals are scheduled for Saturday at 7:55 p.m. From Dearborn, Michigan, Talley earned her first NCAA appearance with a time of 1:00.04 and is seeded No. 40.
CIERRA WILLIAMS: 400m, 4x400
Williams makes her NCAA debut in the 400m on Thursday at 7:25 p.m. Saturday's quarterfinals are at 7:20 p.m. Williams has a time of 53.70, which is 10th in program history. Set in the prelims at the Big Ten Championships, she followed it up with an eighth-place finish in the finals. The Indianapolis native claimed the 36th seed at this week's meet.
ALEXIS ZATTA: HIGH JUMP
The 2021 Big Ten champion indoors and bronze-medalist outdoors, Zatta competes in the high jump on Saturday at 1 p.m. She qualified with a mark of 1.77m and is seeded No. 24. From Athens, Ohio, Zatta is competing at her third NCAA meet and second prelims, and she also qualified indoors in 2021.
MEN'S 4x100 RELAY
Coming off a Big Ten title last weekend, the men's 4x100 relay races on Friday at 5:30 p.m. Colebrooke, Dotson, Becker and Moore's winning time of 39.30 earned them the No. 8 seed and is the fourth-fastest mark in school history. Becker and Colebrooke have been part of the four-fastest relay squads in team history, including the 2019 team that set the Purdue-record mark of 38.75 at prelims to advance to the NCAA Championships. Becker, Colebrooke and Dotson also own the sixth-fastest time in program history. Becker, from Fort Wayne, Indiana, is competing in his third NCAA event and second east prelims.
WOMEN'S 4x100 RELAY
After they won bronze at the Big Ten Championships, the women's 4x100 relay squad runs on Saturday at 5:30 p.m. Kouyeth, Talley, Campbell and Christopher qualified in 44.69 as the No. 16 seed. Christopher was part of the team that set the 10th-fastest time in team history. Kouyeth, from Sandy Springs, Georgia, and Campbell, from Techier Village, Trinidad and Tobago, are both making their NCAA debuts.
WOMEN'S 4x400 RELAY
The final event of the NCAA East Prelims is the 4x400 relay on Saturday at 9:15 p.m. Talley, Williams, Kouyeth and Miller were the Big Ten runners-up and earned the No. 9 seed with a time of 3:33.70. It's the fifth-fastest time in the Purdue record books. Miller also is part of the relay teams that own the No. 6 and No. 7-fastest times in team history. An Indianapolis native, Williams will run at her first NCAA meet.
LAST TIME OUT: BIG TEN OUTDOOR TRACK & FIELD CHAMPIONSHIPS
Purdue won six medals, including two golds, and broke two school records at the 2021 Big Ten Outdoor Track & Field Championships in Champaign, Illinois, from May 14-16. Greene in the triple jump and the men's 4x100 relay squad won Big Ten titles, Colebrooke in the 100m and the women's 4x400 relay team were Big Ten runners-up, while Zatta, in the high jump, and the women's 4x100 claimed bronze.
In total at the three-day conference championship meet, Purdue had 25 top-eight podium finishes. Martin and freshman Ian Hunter broke Purdue records, in the decathlon and 1,500m, and 14 top-10 times in program history were set. The Boilermakers totaled 34 personal-record marks.
Greene and the men's 4x100 relay team of Becker, Colebrooke Dotson and Moore were recognized on the All-Big Ten First Team, while Kouyeth, Miller, Talley and Williams were named to the All-Big Ten Second Team. The Purdue men finished sixth overall with 67 points. The Boilermakers were just six points shy of a top-four finish, as seven points separated fourth through seventh place. The women placed 10th with 41.5 points.
BOILERMAKER MEN NO. 8 IN THE PROGRAM OF THE YEAR AWARD RANKINGS
The Purdue men's track & field and cross country program is ranked No. 8 nationally in the Program of the Year mid-year update, which was unveiled by the USTFCCCA. Among all men's NCAA Division I programs, Purdue is one of just 10 men's teams nationally and one of three in the Big Ten that remain eligible for the Program of the Year Award, which recognizes programs that show consistent success at NCAA Championships in a given academic year. To be ranked, teams must place at the NCAA cross country, indoor track & field and outdoor track & field championship meets.

Greene in the triple jump and the men's 4x100 relay squad won Big Ten titles, Colebrooke in the 100m and the women's 4x400 relay team were Big Ten runners-up, while Zatta, in the high jump, and the women's 4x100 claimed bronze.
In total at the three-day conference championship meet, Purdue had 25 top-eight podium finishes. Martin and freshman Ian Hunter broke Purdue records, in the decathlon and 1,500m, and 14 top-10 times in program history were set. The Boilermakers totaled 34 personal-record marks.
Greene and the men's 4x100 relay team of Becker, Colebrooke Dotson and Moore were recognized on the All-Big Ten First Team, while Kouyeth, Miller, Talley and Williams were named to the All-Big Ten Second Team. The Purdue men finished sixth overall with 67 points. The Boilermakers were just six points shy of a top-four finish, as seven points separated fourth through seventh place. The women placed 10th with 41.5 points.
BOILERMAKER MEN NO. 8 IN THE PROGRAM OF THE YEAR AWARD RANKINGS
The Purdue men's track & field and cross country program is ranked No. 8 nationally in the Program of the Year mid-year update, which was unveiled by the USTFCCCA. Among all men's NCAA Division I programs, Purdue is one of just 10 men's teams nationally and one of three in the Big Ten that remain eligible for the Program of the Year Award, which recognizes programs that show consistent success at NCAA Championships in a given academic year. To be ranked, teams must place at the NCAA cross country, indoor track & field and outdoor track & field championship meets.

Martin, in the decathlon, and Boilermakers who finish in the top 12 in their events will advance to the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships, from June 9-12, in Eugene, Oregon.
