WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – The No. 24-ranked Purdue men's cross country team will race at its third consecutive NCAA Cross Country Championships on Monday, March 15, in Stillwater, Oklahoma.

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – The No. 24-ranked Purdue men's cross country team will race at its third consecutive NCAA Cross Country Championships on Monday, March 15, in Stillwater, Oklahoma.
 
The men's 10k national championship race commences at 1:40 p.m. ET / 12:40 p.m. CT at Oklahoma State's OSU Cross Country Course.
 
ESPNU will broadcast the meet, beginning at 12:30 p.m. ET, and fans also can watch live online and on the ESPN App. Live results, including splits every 1,000 meters, are available here, and all links can be found on the schedule page on PurdueSports.com/CrossCountry. "As we make the NCAA Championships for a third year in a row, we're building that consistency as a program, which is great to see," Purdue track & field and cross country head coach Norbert Elliott said. "We want to continue to build that reputation of a program that is successful in all areas, and our cross country team and coach John Oliver has done a great job of that. I know our men's team will be ready tomorrow, and I'm excited to see them compete."
 
Seniors Curt Eckstein, Joey Humes and Brody Smith, juniors Tyler Bowling, Alec Fleming and Bailey McIntire and sophomores Andrew Brandt and Blake Selm will run for the Boilermakers on Monday. One of 31 teams to qualify, Purdue will be joined by Big Ten foes Indiana, Michigan State and Wisconsin.
 
LAST SEASON AT THE NCAA CROSS COUNTRY CHAMPIONSHIPS
Purdue was 11th at the 2019 NCAA Championships with 338 points, the team's best finish since 1950. Then-senior Jaret Carpenter placed 10th overall, the best by a Boilermaker since 1949, and Eckstein was 24th. The duo earned All-America honors to become the 10th and 11th men's cross country All-Americans in program history and the second and third since 1987.
 
PURDUE'S NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP HISTORY
The 2020 NCAA Championships will be Purdue's 15th as a team and third in a row. This year's squad joins the 1946-50 Boilermakers as the only teams to make three or more consecutive national championship meets. Prior to 2018, the last time the team qualified for NCAAs was 1986.
 
BIG TEN CHAMPIONSHIPS IN REVIEW
Monday's championship is the second meet of the season for the men's cross country team, after a third-place finish at the Big Ten Championships on Jan. 30. Purdue earned a third consecutive top-four finish for the first time since 1948. Eckstein was fifth overall to lead the team, which marked the third year in a row a Boilermaker placed fifth and was named to the All-Big Ten First Team. Additionally, Smith and McIntire were 16th and 18th, respectively, and Humes was 23rd.
 
LAST TIME OUT: NCAA INDOOR TRACK & FIELD CHAMPIONSHIPS
Five Boilermakers competed at the NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships from March 11-13 in Fayetteville, Arkansas. Senior Tamar Greene and sophomore Marcellus Moore earned top-seven finishes with top-three marks in school history to lead the way.
 
On Saturday, Moore placed sixth in the 60-meter final with a time of 6.65 seconds. It tied his personal-best mark set the day before, which is tied for the third-fastest in program history in the event. In the triple jump, Greene finished seventh with a mark of 16.28 meters, the second-best mark in the Purdue record books.
 
On Friday, junior Isaiah Martin was 10th overall in the heptathlon with 5,501 points, and senior Brian Faust raced in the 400, where he was 12th in 46.56. In the high jump, senior Alexis Zatta finished 15th and cleared 1.76 meters.
 
Greene and Moore will be named first team All-Americans and Faust, Martin and Zatta will earn second team All-America accolades.
