Boilermakers Appear in Top-25 For First Time in 2020-21

Purdue appears in the Associated Press Top 25 poll, making its debut at No. 24 in this week's poll.  

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – For the first time during the 2020-21 season, the Purdue men's basketball team appears in the Associated Press Top 25 poll, making its debut at No. 24 in this week's poll.
 
The Boilermakers garnered 130 votes to sit 41 points behind No. 23-ranked Kansas and 13 points ahead of No. 25-ranked Drake.
 
Purdue's last appearance came at No. 23 in the 2019-20 preseason poll. The Boilermakers have now been ranked in the AP Top 25 poll in six straight seasons, the second-longest stretch in school history. The longest stretch came from 1968 to 1975, a span of eight straight seasons.
 
Purdue has been ranked in 71 of the 109 possible polls since the start of the 2015-16 season, the 10th-most appearances in the country.  
 
Purdue enters the Maryland game on Tuesday having won five of its last six games. Purdue's four wins against nationally-ranked teams are tied for the most in the country and its nine combined Quad-1 and Quad-2 victories are the second most in the country behind Alabama's 10. Purdue's strength of schedule is among the top 10 according to all available metrics.
