WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - For the second time this season, Trevion Williams has been named the Big Ten Player of the Week for his role in Purdue's East Coast split.

He wins the award for the second time this season, also claiming honors on Nov. 22, following Purdue's title in the Hall of Fame Tipoff Classic and wins over Wright State, North Carolina and Villanova.

Williams has now won the Big Ten Player of the Week award four times in his career, tied for the fifth-most honors in school history.

Williams averaged 21.5 points, 11.5 rebounds, 5.0 assists, 2.0 blocks and 1.5 steals in a split against Rutgers and North Carolina State. He was 19-of-31 (.613) from the field and 5-of-8 (.625) from the free throw line, averaging 28.0 minutes per game.

In the loss to Rutgers, he tallied 21 points, 11 rebounds, one assist and one steal in 23 minutes of action. He followed that performance with a sterling 22-point, 12-rebound, nine-assist, four-block, two-steal showing in a come-from-behind win over North Carolina State in Brooklyn on Sunday. He is the only player nationally to reach those marks in a game since at least the 2009-10 season.

Williams is averaging 14.2 points, 9.3 rebounds, 3.0 assists, 1.3 steals and 0.9 blocks per game, coming in just 20.9 minutes per contest. Since the 1992-93 season, no player has ever averaged at least 14 points, nine rebounds and three assists in under 29 minutes per game. Williams is doing so this year at 20.9 minutes per contest.

Williams surpassed 1,100 career points in the win over North Carolina State, becoming the 12th player in school history with 1,100 points and 700 rebounds. He now has 26 career double-doubles, good for 23th on Purdue's career list.

Williams and the No. 3-ranked Boilermakers will face Butler in the Crossroads Classic on Saturday in Indianapolis, tipping off at Noon from Gainbridge Fieldhouse.
