WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – The Purdue cross country team makes the short trip south to Carmel, Indiana, for the Stan Lyons Bulldog Invitational on Friday afternoon.
The meet begins with the women's 5k at 4 p.m. ET, followed by the men's 8k at 4:45 p.m. ET. The race will be hosted by Butler and held at the Northview Church course.
Seven Boilermakers will compete on Friday, five men and two women. Purdue and Butler will be joined by the IUPUI men and the Marquette and Thomas More women.
Friday's meet is fifth of the season for Purdue and the final non-conference race before next week's Big Ten Championships.
In this week's USTFCCCA Great Lakes Region rankings, the men are No. 7 and the women are No. 9.
LAST TIME OUT: NUTTYCOMBE INVITATIONAL
In a highly-competitive field at the Nuttycombe Wisconsin Invitational, the Boilermaker men placed 27th and the women were 29th on October 15. Senior Curt Eckstein and sophomore Katelyn Wasson were Purdue's top finishers in the team's fourth meet of the season.
In the men's 8k, Eckstein was 30th overall in 23:52.2. Wasson led the women with a time of 21:13.0 to finish 90th overall on the 6k course.
