WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – The seats of Mackey Arena will not be empty for the 2020-21 Purdue men's and women's basketball seasons. After more than 1,200 purchases for Ross-Ade Stadium, Purdue Athletics announced the continuation of its fan cutout program to allow fans to see themselves at Boilermaker home games throughout the season.
At this time, it is likely that full capacity in Mackey will not be possible this year due to COVID-19, so cutouts will provide fans an opportunity to be represented at games if they are unable to attend due to a limited capacity.
"We have seen unique and creative football cutout submissions," said Chris Peludat, associate athletics director for marketing and fan experience. "Our basketball fans continue to make Mackey Arena one of the best atmospheres to watch a basketball game year-in and year-out, so we are excited to see how creative our fans will be with their cutouts."
Selling cutouts at this time does not eliminate the possibility that fans will be allowed in Mackey this year. We continue to work with the Big Ten, campus and local officials on guidelines related to fan attendance.
Starting at $55, fans can submit photos of themselves to be placed behind the baskets at each end of the floor throughout the entire season. For an additional fee, fans can have their cutout shipped to their home at the end of the season, and a limited number can have their cutouts signed by either Matt Painter or Sharon Versyp.
Purdue students and Boilermaker Kids Club members can purchase theirs for $35. Fans who purchased a cutout for Ross-Ade Stadium will need to purchase a new cutout for Mackey Arena.
