WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – The Purdue men's tennis team dropped its 2020 season opener against Harvard on Saturday morning. Playing in the Arthur Ashe Invitational in West Point, N.Y., the Boilermakers fell to the Crimson 7-0.

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – The Purdue men's tennis team dropped its 2020 season opener against Harvard on Saturday morning. Playing in the Arthur Ashe Invitational in West Point, N.Y., the Boilermakers fell to the Crimson 7-0.

ORACLE/ITA No. 45 Athell Bennett pushed Ronan Jachuck to three sets at No. 1. He was the lone Boilermaker to avoid a two-set match in singles action.

Julian Saborio and Sebastian Welch were battling in a tightly-contested doubles contest at No. 3 against Logan Weber and Robert Wrzesinski, but the match was halted at 4-3.

The Boilermakers will return to the court to face Army West Point on Sunday at 10 a.m. Purdue was slated to face Marist in an evening contest Saturday, but bad weather in the area forced the match to be cancelled.
