WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. –
Tight end Brycen Hopkins has accepted an invitation to the 2020 Reese's Senior Bowl in Mobile, Alabama. Hopkins will be the first Boilermaker to participate in the pre-draft Senior Bowl since Kawann Short in 2013. Short was selected by the Carolina Panthers in the second round of the 2013 National Football League Draft.

Hopkins is turning in his finest season as a Boilermaker as a senior. The Nashville, Tennessee, native is second nationally among all tight ends in total receptions (42), tied for second in receptions per game by tight ends (4.7), fourth in total receiving yards by the position (538) and fifth among TEs in receiving yards per game (59.8).

His nine-game totals thus far are the most receptions and receiving yards by a tight end at Purdue since Dustin Keller finished the 2007 season with 68 catches for 881 yards. His 10 receptions against Maryland on Oct. 12 are tied for the most by a tight end in a game in the Football Bowl Subdivision, while his 140 yards receiving against the Terrapins lead all FBS tight ends.
