WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – The Purdue women's tennis team will hit the road for the final time in the fall, heading to warmer climates this weekend in Florida. The Boilermakers are set to play in the Bonita Bay FineMark Classic/FGCU Invite at the Bonita Bay Country Club.
This weekend's tournament will feature a different format than the traditional fall tournament structure. The Boilermakers will play singles and doubles matches against one team, instead of the standard bracket play during the fall.
Purdue will square off with Connecticut on Friday at 12:30 p.m. The Boilermakers will face Big Ten foe Minnesota on Saturday at 12:30 p.m. On Sunday, Purdue will play host FGCU at 12:30 p.m.
The Boilermakers have had a solid fall season. Alex Sabe continues to lead the way with a 6-3 mark in singles action over three events. Sabe and doubles partner Zala Dovnik hold a 5-5 record as a tandem. Freshman Nathalia Wolf Gasparin went 5-1 in doubles play in a pair of tournaments.
FGCU will host the event. Due to the tournament being played at an off-campus location, live results will not be available.
