GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Three marks were forged in the Purdue record books on the second day of the Pepsi Florida Relays. Brian Faust continued to tally up some of Purdue's fastest times, while the men's 4x400-meter relay team secured its place in the finals with an exclamation point and Blanchard Montgomery IV became the first freshman of the outdoor season to produce a top mark.

Brian Faust, the Purdue record holder in three specialties, inks his name on the Boilermaker performance list yet again – this time in the outdoor 400-meter dash. The Atlanta, Georgia, native ran a 46.05 for fifth-place, which also ties as the seventh-fastest time in the NCAA and second-fastest in the Big Ten. He is now just 0.34 seconds shy of tying the program-best set by Nicholas Parks in 2016.

The men's 4x400-meter relay team of Jordan Hollis, Samson Colebrooke, Malcolm Dotson and Shawndail McLaren boasted a 3:07.94 time, which places them as the fifth-fastest relay team in Purdue history. While it is the first time Hollis, Colebrooke and Dotson are members of this prestigious club, McLaren is a member of five of Purdue's six fastest teams in the event.

Montgomery IV ran a 51.89 in the 400-meter hurdles, slashing 1.23 seconds off his previous PR to earn a top 8 finish. With the performance, the freshman now stands at No. 6 all-time in Purdue history, No. 4 in the B1G this season and was the second-fastest underclassman in the Florida Relays event. Additionally, Montgomery IV is just the third Boilermaker to make the 400-meter hurdles list in over two decades.

Long jumper Jaden Mattox closed out the day with the best jump in the Big Ten and 18th in the nation with a mark of 19-11.75/6.09m. The jump placed fourth at the meet and was just 0.01-meters shy of her personal-best.

Jae'Nisa Heckstall took 16th-place overall, after taking the lead coming out of the final turn. In the final stretch, Heckstall propelled her way to a first-place finish in her heat for a time of 1:00.45, also good for No. 8 in the conference.

The Boilermakers will conclude the Florida Relays tomorrow beginning with the women's hammer scheduled for 11 a.m. ET. At 6:35 p.m. ET, the women will take off in the 4x400-meter relay finals, followed by the men at 6:45 p.m. ET.
