WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - Tiara Murphy was forced to miss almost the entire 2016-17 season due to a torn ACL, but did enough in the early games to make Purdue women's basketball fans excited about her return. Appearing in just nine games, Murphy is eligible to receive a medical redshirt for last season and will play as a sophomore for the Old Gold & Black this year.
Murphy has proven an ability to score bunches of points in limited minutes, including a six-point burst against Oklahoma in the 2016 NCAA Tournament, and her career-high 10-point showing in 14 minutes against Colgate in her final appearance of the 2016-17 season. The South Bend, Indiana native is progressing well in her rehab and aims to rejoin her teammates in a full capacity for the start of 2017-18.
