BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - The Purdue women's track and field team finished its second day of competition at the Harry C. Gladstein Fieldhouse on the campus of Indiana University. The Boilermakers finished with 50 points in eighth place. Winning the meet was Michigan, while Indiana finished second on its home ground.
In the finals of the 400m dash, Ragina Harvey finished sixth with a time of 56.77 for three points. In the mile run, freshman Laura Farley finished fifth to qualify for the finals on Sunday, where she finished ninth in 5:06.52.
Junior Kim Jordan finished as the runner-up in the 800m run, while Amber Ferner was the only Boilermaker tp finish in the 5,000, tallying a time of 17:35.31.
Finishing in third place with a time of 3:47.27, the Purdue 4x400 relay team gathered six points. In the high jump, senior Carrie Long finished eighth for one point, as she jumped a height of 1.69m (5' 6 ?"). Freshman Laura Stier finished 15th with a jump of 1.65m (5' 5") and junior Angela Anoliefoh finished with a jump of 1.61m (5' 3 ?").
In the 20-lb. weight throw, junior Tiffany Britten finished 17th with a toss of 16.24m (53' 3 ?"), while sophomore Courtney Magnuson finished 22nd with a throw of 15.48m (50' 9 ?").
The Boilermaker women will return to the track when they head to Fayetteville, Ark., for the NCAA Indoor Championships from March 14-15.
