BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - The Purdue track and field teams finished their competitions on Day One of the Indiana Invitational on Friday at the Harry C. Gladstein Fieldhouse in Bloomington.

Junior Carrie Long and freshman Laura Steir finished sixth and ninth with marks of 1.65m and 1.61m in the high jump. In the pole vault, senior Simona Kovacic won with a jump of 3.90m, her second-best mark of the season. Senior Amy Spellmeyer came in third and Jocelyn Lindsay and Katie Rorem tied for sixth. Megan Darraugh and Meghan McKenzie both also competed as unattached. They tied for 12th.
Junior Tiffany Britten came in third in the women's shot put as the final Purdue finisher. She tossed a mark of 14.35m.
The Old Gold and Black will be back in action on Saturday at Day Two of the Indiana Invitational. The meet is scheduled to begin at noon, EST.
