WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - The football team had its last practice before Saturday's biannual Jersey Scrimmage. The Boilermakers were in helmets and shoulder pads and practiced nearly an hour and a half preparing Thursday morning.

Austin Appleby, David Blough and Elijah Sindelar all took reps with the first team offense in the 16th practice of the year. Appleby and Blough have taken the majority of the first team reps, but Sindelar took advantage of his opportunity. One play, he drew the pass rush in before flipping it out to Cole Herdman near the sideline, who then gained 30 or so yards.

Leroy Clark had an interception for the defense on an overthrown ball. The safety sat back in coverage before making his break and taking the pass back the other way. Clark is working as a safety for the first time in his Purdue career, after playing cornerback the previous two seasons.

Head coach Darrell Hazell continues to be impressed with DeAngelo Yancey's work ethic and attitude in camp. He spoke to the media after practice and discussed Yancey, as well as what he is hoping to see this weekend in the Jersey Scrimmage. David Rose and Markus Bailey also talked to the media. Those interviews can be found below.

Saturday is the last chance for fans to see the Boilermakers before the Sunday, Sept. 6 opener at Marshall. The Jersey Scrimmage will be held at Ross-Ade Stadium at 11:15 a.m. and is open to the public, though no pictures or videos are permitted. Fans can stick around after the game for a rief autograph and picture session with the team.
